WILDCATTER'S DREAM
(Print Number Eight in the C. A. Warner Memorial Series of Historic Texas Oil Field Images)
There he is, front and center, with the lease in one hand and the other on his hip, looking like he was sure the whole time.
Always wore that boater hat and those dude boots. Always brought Tom with him. Tom was his dog. That's Tom peaking out between J.B.'s legs. Who the heck names a dog Tom, anyway?
Opportunity sings out to individuals who are individuals and J. B. knew the song.
He was a poor boy who got pushed around a lot as a kid, but on this day he knew what it felt like to win.
And he won again and again. Even after the money didn't matter anymore he kept going back. Kept sinking wells. It was about the challenge. About proving himself. About showing them hell yes he could.
That spirit still lives. It can't die as long as you let it have a place in your heart and gut.
Here is the wildcatter living his dream on a perfect spring day in 1919.
Print Details
This is a high quality Giclee print on old-world style heavy weight, acid free, cold press watercolor paper. Each one is individually hand numbered. The 'felt finished' surface allows the inks to 'bite', reproducing the shading and tonality of the original image vividly, beautifully, and exactly. These inks are guaranteed color-fast for 80 years, which means you won't need to lay out the extra money for UV glass. You can hang your print in direct sun and it will be just as bright when they are passed on to the next generation as a family heirloom as it is the day it ships.
All you need to do choose any standard 18 by 24 inch frame and mat from your local frame shop. Like all prints in this series, it is a Limited Edition of only 254 hand-numbered and titled copies, one for each county in Texas. Get yours before they're gone.
